March'10
So i am in a hurry...need to do all repotting before 24 march'10- reason- will write it later. So my plants r doing really well... worried transplanting them might cause problem.
Drwarf petunia have germinated well and the roots are coming out from below the pots so i bought hanging baskets yesterday from Dollar Tree $1 each. Now planning to put my little plants in this basket.
here are the latest pics!
So in the basket i have put Dwarf petunia while in the single brown pot i have put wave petunia. It seems dwarf petunia grow upright while wave petuni trail....just my guess!!

Project - Avocado !!
I love avocados !!
So i used the toothpick method to grow my own Avocado Tree...hopefully by the time it is grown i will have a home of my own with lawn where i will be able to plant it...distant dream!!
Around October i took avocado seed and pierced it a bit with agarbatti left over stick on three sides and suspended it into glass of water with the pointed edge of the seed facing upward out of water.
Months went by and nothing happened.... the used to fill it up to the brim whenevr the water evaporated. I was patient- infact i had little expectations.
Come Febuary'10 i saw the seeds split open.... but not a sign of root but within a week - ten days a saw a tiny root. This is how it looks right now....no shoot yet!!

freesias... will i be lucky this season?
Bought freesias bulbs December'09 from walmart (20 for $5) Planted them early January around 12th Jan! 5 in the white container & 4 in hanging basket....have heard they smell lovely- will i be lucky to see them bloom in my patio?
I was almost giving up on those planted bulbs when in first week of Febuary i saw tiny green knife like leaves popping up. Not impressed with the germination rate... only 3 out of 4 germinated in hanging basket. There were still no signs of any germination in white container..... the only difference was Potting soil (Gardners) in hanging basket while Sta Green potting mix in white container. By end of Feb around 20th i saw 2 tiny leaves in the white container as well. Still no sign of remaining 3 bulbs in the white container.
They are growing slow...dnt knwo if i will get to see the blooms in my patio?
The bucket one is growing strong
they all need stakes!!

Cheap Deals!
Never planned to BUT cudn't resist!!
Alyssum @$1.99 from Lowes: got a pack of six. It had lovely white flowers and beautiful fragrance. Re-potted @3 in my green container & 2 in on of the hanging basket which i plan to report again in the Costco empty salad plastic box.
But it is stange after repotting it.... the plants have totally given up on flowering. There is not even a single flower now...maybe its working on its roots...hope so...wish so!!
The sun decided to shine more regularly in April which resulted in my tiny white flower blanket.
Snapdragon @$1 from Lowes (11 feb'10).... poor thing was badly root bound and without water since days... soil was very dry but i thought i could try to revive it.... $1 was not a bad deal. I got it home, next day nearly tore off half its roots as the container i had planned to re-pot it (my Costco salad plastic box) was half the height of the container in which i got snapdragon. I was not very hopeful of the outcome....but it showed no signs of shock and looks beautiful hanging out from my patio. Just love it.
They grew at a speed and i had to tie them together so that the stems dnt break. It has been windy lately and most of the flowers have broken off.
Zonal Geranium @$ 1.50 (22feb'10) from Walmart at Roseville. have re-potted it in a similar container as snapdragon. It did not show any sign of shock but i really dnt know if it will live. As similar to snapdragon its soil was dry dry dry & the leaves were yellow and had holes in them. my only hope was i saw few new leaves so maybe it might live...but too early to say. ..... dnt have any pictures yet ..will post later. Even the color of this Geranium is a mystery..i wish it is pink or red...lets see.
what color will the flower be was still a suspense!!!
